FRONT-END SOFTWARE ENGINEER

 Job Summary:

The Front-End Software Engineer will be responsible for the user interface used to deliver a mission critical customer engagement platform. They will work in a fast-paced startup environment where continuous change, innovation and experimentation are expected.

Additionally, they will demonstrate mastery in one or more of these technologies and will have experience in highly available and scalable enterprise systems. The engineer will collaborate with product management, other engineers and peers.

Responsibilities / Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with product managers, product designers, and full-stack engineers to design and build new capabilities

  • Develop responsive/adaptive user interfaces consistent across various browsers, devices, and screen sizes

  • Translate hi-fidelity designs and wireframes into responsive/adaptive interfaces

  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and disseminate knowledge and best practices to the rest of the team

  • Taking ownership of features beginning to end, from design documents and reviews to acceptance testing and deployment

  • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance

  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required

  • Show pride of ownership and strive for excellence in everything they do

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related work experience

  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering using an object oriented language

  • Solid understanding of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, JSON, and/or Ajax

  • Experience with modern javascript user interface frameworks and libraries

  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them

  • Working experience with REST API back-end services

  • A strong data-driven/fact-based decision maker

  • Prefers working in fast-paced environment

  • Effective verbal and written communicator

  • Strong collaboration and listening skills

Key Skills:

  • Languages - Javascript & HTML/CSS

  • Frameworks and libraries - Vue, React, Ember, AngularJS, or similar

  • Other - Git
